An Evening With Amanda Palmer: The Art Of Asking Book Signing.
Join musician, performer, and best-selling author, Amanda Palmer at the Thornbury Theatre for an evening of music, discussion, Q and A, and readings from her new book, The Art of Asking. The book will be available for purchase at the venue, and book-signing will commence immediately after the performance.
I feel so lucky that I need to pinch myself that I get to photograph and document so many fabulous artists when they tour our little town. It is always so special when you meet a unique international artists like Amanda Palmer, that directly connects with her fans. I have been documenting her shows in Melbourne from intimate solo gigs at Spiegeltent, wild stage shows at The Forum Theatre, performing with her band, The Grand Theft Orchestra and the band that made her such a superstar, The Dresden Dolls. Tonight was might have billed as just a humble book reading for her latest opus 'The Art Of Asking' but we got to see Amanda perform solo, with her husband and literary giant Neil Gaiman, a gorgeous duet with Tom Dickins and a performance from The Bedroom Philosopher aka Justin Heazlewood.

Psycho

_________
Can Mary fry some fish, Mamma
Cause I'm as hunger as can be
Oh lordy how I wish, Mamma
You could keep that baby quiet
Cause my head is killing me
I saw my ex again last night, Mamma
She was at the dance at millers store
She was with that Jacky Wite, Mamma
I killed them both and they're burried
Under Jenkins in the morgue
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
Mamma pour me a cup
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
You better let 'em lock me up
Don't hand me Johnny's pup. Mamma
Cause I might squeeze in too tight
I'm having crazy dreams again, Mamma
So let me tell you about last night
I woke up in Johnny's room, Mamma
Standing right there beside his bed
With my hands around his throat, Mamma
Wishing both of us were dead
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
I just killed Johny's pup
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
You better let 'em lock me up
You know that little girl next door, Mamma
I believe her name was Betty Clark
Don't tell me she's dead, Mamma
Cause I just saw her in the park
We were sitting on a bench, Mamma
Thinking of a game to play
Seems I was holding a wrench, Mamma
Then my mind just walked away
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
I didn't mean to break your cup
You think I'm psycho don't you mamma
Oh Mamma why don't you get up
